Hemu was born in Kutabpur, a small village in Rewari, Haryana. In Akbar's biography 'Akbarnama', derogatory words have been used for Hemu. In Akbarnama, Abul Fazl described Hemu as a hawker who used to sell salt in the streets of Rewari.
Hemu Vikramaditya was such a ruler who defeated the Mughals and captured Delhi. Hindu rule was established among the anti-India Muslim rulers even for a short period of time. The credit for this was given to this Emperor Hemu. Hemu, a resident of Rewari in Haryana, won a total of 22 battles in his life. This is the reason why some historians called him 'Samudra Gupta' and 'Napoleon of the Middle Ages'.
Defeated the Mughals on the insult done in Akbarnama

Sher Shah's son Islam Shah got an eye on his merits and he made Hemu the head of the postal department. But when he saw Hemu's fighting skills, he gave him an important place in the army. Not only this, Mohammad Adil Shah, the first ruler of the Shahi dynasty, gave him the status of 'Vakeel-e-Aala' i.e. Prime Minister during his reign.
Got the responsibility to drive out the Mughals from India
On receiving important responsibility from Adil Shah, Hemu formed such an army which had 50 thousand soldiers. There were 10 thousand elephants and 51 cannons. Its discussion spread everywhere. There were already discussions about Hemu's bravery. Then after hearing about the army to fight with the Mughals, the Mughal governors of Kalpi and Agra, Abdullah Uzbeg Khan and Sikandar Khan fled the city in fear.
KK Bhardwaj has written in his book 'Hemu Napoleon of Medieval India' that Tardi Khan, the governor of Delhi in Mughalia Sultanate tried his best to stop Hemu. Hemu reached Delhi on October 6, 1556 and he set up an army in Tughlaqabad. The next day there was a clash with the Mughal army in which the Mughals were defeated. Tardi Khan ran towards Punjab to save his life because the Mughal army was already present there.
